The unit applies to the illustration or drawing of designs from the designer or rough sketch. The three dimensional drawings will feature all perspectives of the product; and will be used as a communication tool for construction or promotional purposes. The drawing may be done manually or by computer.
Work may be conducted in small to large scale enterprises and may involve individual and team-related activities.
The application of this unit is according to OHS practices of the enterprise and workplace practices which may include:
requirements prescribed by legislation, awards, agreements and conditions of employment
standard operating procedures
work instructions
oral, written and visual communication
quality practices, including responsibility for maintenance of own work quality and contribution to quality improvement of team or section output
housekeeping
tasks related to environmental protection, waste disposal, pollution control and recycling
This unit requires the application of skills associated with communication to interpret and graphically depict information for use in three dimensional designs. Planning and organising and problem solving skills are also required to achieve drawings that can be used to direct design processes. Self management skills are applied to ensure work meets work standards.
This unit covers skills and knowledge required to draw three dimensional designs for custom made and production textile, clothing and footwear products.
